French-English-German Translation

Special projects

I generate most of my income through translation work, given the steady demand. Nevertheless, I would be interested in developing other writing projects with European companies looking to make a favorable impression in the United States. Many companies are content simply to translate their existing public relations materials into English, and pass up the opportunity to develop targeted communications in English. Here are a few ideas to consider:

  • I could write a brief company history in a context that an American reader will understand. Such a history does not have to be long. It could be anywhere from 1 to 10 pages. You could make it available on your web site or send it directly to prospective customers as a pdf file at no additional cost.

  • Let me interview your CEO and publish an edited transcript that addresses current issues of interest to your U.S. customers or employees. Given my journalistic background, I may find an angle that you would overlook.

  • Instead of a cover-to-cover translation of your published materials, you may only need an summary version. I could selectively translate (or to be more precise, “re-write”) the existing document to present only the essential information for U.S. readers, thereby saving you time and money.

  • As an independent editor, I can critique your existing English-language publications, make comments in the margins or suggest alternative wording. Depending on the length of the document, this type of editing work can often be accomplished in just a few hours at relatively little cost to you, yet make a big difference.

You may have other ideas. Feel free to give me a call and we can discuss them.
