My mother tongue is English, my father tongue French, and I learned German on my own. I have lived in both France and Germany and traveled extensively throughout Europe. I only translate from French or German into English (not the other way around). I typically write in U.S. English, but if clients prefer British English, I can do that as well.

I work on all types of publications: annual and quarterly reports, financial statements, newsletters, investment research, fund management reports, prospectuses, etc. I have experience in a wide range of economic sectors (finance, manufacturing, services) as well as the public sector and non-profit institutions.

Over the years, I have developed an extensive network of colleagues with whom I exchange information and support, but I always do the translation myself. I do not hire people to work for me. If I am busy or cannot take on a project, I may be able to refer you to a colleague.

My daily volume depends on the nature of the text, but I usually average between 2,000 and 3,000 words. Translation work offers no real economies of scale, so lengthy documents such as annual reports may require a slightly longer deadline to ensure consistency.

I like to work in Microsoft Word, since I can add comments, footnotes, highlight text, add or view revision marks, etc. I also work with Powerpoint, Excel and PDF files.

It helps if the client has a contact person able to provide feedback during the translation process. I like to prepare a glossary for projects that involve numerous technical terms or require consistent terminology (e.g. financial statements).
